The Farm Business Development Center is a business incubator for beginning farmers. Successful applicants lease up to 5 acres of certified organic farmland for up to 5 years. Participants pay market rates for land, irrigation, greenhouse space, wash/pack facilities. cooler space and field equipment. Lease charges are for actual use. Participants are part of a larger community as they farm alongside each other and a mentor farmer. Staff of the Liberty Prairie Foundation work with "graduating" to find access to secure longterm access to larger farms in the immediate area.
